Jeremy Popoff is an award winning songwriter, producer, guitar player, and entrepreneur. The tattooed rocker from Southern California was the instrumental force in catapulting his band Lit from Orange County garage band to MULTI- PLATINUM arena status. Jeremy co- wrote and co- produced the band’s 4 albums and 7 singles, including “My Own Worst Enemy,” which earned a Billboard Music Award and was the most played Rock song of 1999, holding the #1 position for a staggering 11 weeks. Their hit single “Miserable” was the #3 most played Rock song of 2000. Lit has spent several years touring the world, sharing the stage with such acts as No Doubt, Kid Rock, Bon Jovi and KISS, and also performed at Woodstock 99.

He has logged countless placements in film, television and video games, including Rockband.
Jeremy’s diverse ability and instinct as a writer and producer has been recruited over the years by artists, labels and music supervisors. In 2001, he signed the Orange County rock band Handsome Devil and produced their debut for RCA Records. In 2003, he co- wrote songs with the band Zebrahead for Columbia Records. The album, MFZB, debuted in Japan at #3 and is certified GOLD and Popoff’s “Rescue Me” is the band’s highest reacting single to date.
After a tragic motorcycle accident that claimed the life of his stepfather and critically injured his mother, Popoff took some time off from the band to care for his mom, who was hospitalized for 4 months, spend time with his son, and reflect on his life- past, present and future. Feeling he needed a change both musically and geographically, Jeremy began traveling to Nashville regularly to write and began collaborating with some of Music Row’s heaviest hitters.
“I fell in love with the city and felt at home. I’ve made friends there that I know I will have for life.”
Popoff bought a house in Nashville in 2007 and continues to spend as much time there as possible. His love for Country Music dates back to his earliest memories.
“My dad was a radio DJ my whole life and his first few gigs were at Country stations,” he explains. “My first favorite singers I remember having were Charlie Rich, Glen Campbell and Kenny Rogers. I used to try and comb my hair like Glen Campbell when I was 3,” laughs Jeremy.
He co- wrote “Mowin’ Down The Roses” with Jamey Johnson, which he cut on his award winning GOLD record, That Lonesome Song. Jeremy was also instrumental in bringing Colt Ford to Nashville and worked with him on his album, Ride Through The Country which has sold over one hundred thousand copies to date. He also had 2 cuts on Jon Michael Montgomery’s latest release, Time Flies, including the single “Mad Cowboy Disease.”
Jeremy Popoff has releases on deck including cuts by Heidi Newfield, Tracy Byrd and Disney’s Mitchell Musso from Hannah Montana. He is currently working on Lit’s 5th studio album with producer Marti Fredericksen, planned for release in early 2011 on Eleven Seven Music (Motley Crue, Buckcherry).
He is also the creator and owner of a popular Orange County, California restaurant/ bar/ music venue called The Slidebar Rock n’ Roll Café, which opened in 2006.
